Capabilities

What our sensors make possible. Each capability lists example applications — the specific systems it enables.

The register

Six capabilities, one core technology

A navigation track holding its course through a GPS-denied band while the satellite-derived estimate drifts away from it.

Alt PNT

Positioning, navigation and timing that survives GPS denial, degradation and spoofing.

  • Spoofing detectionAn independent reference on board makes a forged fix detectable, because the forged position disagrees with a clock the attacker cannot reach.
  • Jam resistanceWhen the received signal is buried, navigation continues from references that are carried rather than broadcast.
  • Assured navigationPosition and time that degrade gradually instead of failing at once, so an operation continues rather than aborts.
Four distributed clocks whose rising edges all land on one shared reference edge, holding the network in step.

Time synchronization

Chip-scale timing accurate enough to hold networks and grids in step without a satellite.

  • Grid synchronizationProtection and metering across substations stay comparable when the reference on the roof stops arriving.
  • TelecommunicationsBase stations and transport equipment hold their allocation without a receiver in the loop.
A timing-error trace after the satellite lock is lost: the held clock stays inside tolerance while an unheld oscillator crosses it.

GPS holdover

Maintaining timing accuracy through extended loss of GPS.

  • DefensePlatforms and installations that must go on operating through a denial event, not merely detect one.
  • Data centersOrdering and audit trails that stay coherent across racks and sites when the reference is interrupted.
A magnetometer traverse across a survey line, with the magnetic contours closing into a bullseye over a buried anomaly.

Mag ISR

Magnetic intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance — detecting what other sensors cannot see.

  • DefenseDetection and classification of concealed ferrous mass where optical and radio sensing have no path to it.
A magnetic sensor scanning a component wall, with flux leaking out around a subsurface flaw and the trace peaking directly above it.

Mag NDT

Non-destructive testing using magnetic sensing, reading through material rather than around it.

  • Pipeline inspectionWall loss and cracking read from outside the pipe, without excavating or taking the line out of service.
  • Electronics manufacturingJoints and internal structure verified on the line rather than sampled after the fact.
  • Automotive and aerospace parts manufacturingSubsurface defects caught at the point they are made, on parts where opening one up destroys it.
An inertial sensor riding a length of track, with the deviation trace rising where the rail geometry bows out of alignment.

Rail monitoring

Inertial and gyroscopic sensing applied to rail infrastructure monitoring.

  • IMU and gyro sensingTrack geometry reconstructed from the motion of a vehicle already on the network, instead of from a scheduled survey run.

Underneath

One vapor cell under all of it

Every capability above comes back to the same part. The vapor cell is the core technology underneath our sensors. What it enables — clocks, magnetometers, gyroscopes — follows from how precisely it can be made and characterized.

Laser light crossing a sealed cell of atomic vapour into a detector, whose trace dips at the atomic resonance the sensor measures against.
